Kodeń 2011-11-28
Is a village and the site of a famous Marian shrine in eastern Poland.
A village set on the bank of the Bug in the Podlasie Regionfeaturing a late-Renaissance parish church of St. Anne's from the 17th century with fine stucco ornaments and the painting of Our Mother of Kodeń - the purpose of numerous pilgrimages; there is also an old Orthodox Church of the Holy Ghost built in Gothic-Renaissance style in the 16th century, a small palace from the 18th century which has been remodelled, and the foundations of the castle of the Sapieha Family.
